Vile Norris 'racially abused prison officer'
Daily Mirror UK
|October 08, 2025
DAVID Norris desperately tried to blame his racist, violent past on a disturbed youth as he made a bid for freedom yesterday.
But it emerged that only three years ago the Stephen Lawrence killer abused a prison officer over the colour of her skin.
And he was said to be a member of far-right group the English Defence League with other cons who were suspected of trying to "radicalise" a young inmate.
Norris also prolonged the 32-year agony Stephen's parents have suffered by refusing to name the other killers in the gang that stabbed the budding architect to death in April 1993.
The thug, 49, admitted he punched the 18-year-old after he fell dying to the floor at a bus stop in Eltham, South East London.
Norris spoke publicly for the first time about his part in Stephen's murder during the first stage of his parole hearing yesterday.
HORRIBLE
He admitted the teenager, who was with his pal Duwayne Brooks, now 50, at the time of the attack, had done nothing to provoke the gang.
He added: "They were only trying to make their way home and everyone, regardless of what age or race they may be, should be able to go about their business safely.
"I was a 16-year-old horrible, violent, racist, young man who had come so far off the rails that there was a high possibility I might never be back on the right track."
But evidence was produced that revealed Norris had called the female prison officer a "n*****" in October 2022, and referred to a prison nurse as a "horrible c***" the same year.
