Tank needs to be gunning for Roach rematch

IRRESPECTIVE of how the New York commission responds in its review of last week's controversial draw between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach, Tank's armour has been seriously pierced.

- BARRY MCGUIGAN

I had Roach winning by a point. Had the referee scored it a knockdown when Davis went down on one knee in the ninth, there would have been no issue. Roach would have been judged the winner. 'Tank' Davis claimed he had hair product in his eye that forced him to stop (above) and seek help from his corner. Tough. He went down. End of story.

Referee Steve Willis inexplicably allowed Davis to carry on without sanction. And the New York Commission claimed a technical fault denied them the chance to review the incident in real time.
