E-cig users hit 5.4m and finally overtake smokers

VAPING has overtaken smoking in popularity for the first time.

The number of people using e-cigarettes daily or occasionally is 5.4 million, with smokers at 4.9 million.

And an increase in young people vaping appears to have stalled since a crackdown on sweet flavoured vapes.

In the 16-24 age group, vaping fell from 6.9% to 6.1%,
