Stab death lad 'was trying to defend his mum'

A BRITISH boy who was fatally stabbed in Portugal allegedly by his mum's ex was likely trying to protect her, according to his gran.

Linda Hallett said Alfie Hallett, 13, was a “lovely, gentle boy with a heart of gold”.

He was found dead in a house in Casais, Tomar, on Christmas Eve after previously telling authorities that his mother was a victim of domestic abuse.
