Ex-deputy PM warns Labour Party survival now at stake

ANGELA Rayner has warned Keir Starmer Labour is running out of time to deliver change and win back voters.

In a major intervention, the ex-deputy PM - touted as a future leadership contender - said the survival of the party is at stake.

Insisting a right-wing populist government is not inevitable, she added: “It’s our job to show the British people whose side we're on.”

At a reception hosted by the Andy Burnham-backed group Mainstream on Tuesday, Ms Rayner said the party had come to be seen to represent “the Establishment, not working people”.
