Pupils spend 'significant time' online at night

SCHOOLCHILDREN using social media spend around a fifth of their time on the apps at night.

Between 15% and 24% of the time eight-14-yearolds spent on YouTube, Snapchat, TikTok and WhatsApp fell between the hours of 9pm and 5am, Ofcom also found.

In its annual report, out today, the media watchdog says a "significant amount of the time online spent by children is at night".
