PM must stand up to President

■IT is very frightening that a megalomaniac like Donald Trump is cosying up to that other dictator, Putin and between them they are peddling the most outrageous lies about Ukraine, creating an unholy alliance that should scare us all.

In electing this man, the USA has inflicted him on the rest of the world a situation that we didn't have a say in.

I hope that Europe, in general, and Keir Starmer in particular, will stand up to the liar Trump when he meets him in the US.

Sheila Fox, Crawley, West Sussex

■The American people have a president who has lost the plot. He expected Volodomyr Zelensky to make a deal with Russia when they were bombing his country.

What did he expect him to do?

Say you can have my country, but don't bomb us?

When Trump called Zelensky a dictator he must have been looking in a mirror, because he is the dictator and the quicker the American people realise this the better.

I think our PM should give him a wide berth, and not go to America.

Talks will be a waste of time. I agree we have to help Ukraine but we must strengthen our own forces, and hospitals first.
