PM launches 'biggest' strategy

CHILDREN growing up poor are more likely to experience ill health, be unemployed or in low-paid jobs as adults, damning government evidence warns.

PM Keir Starmer, who yesterday launched the biggest ever child poverty strategy, said growing up in hardship was a barrier to realising young talent.

A report published alongside a blueprint to reduce child poverty by 550,000 by 2030 warned: "The impact can continue throughout the lifecourse, limiting life chances and increasing disadvantage".
