Benn has big plans after finally beating Eubank Jr

- BY MARTIN DOMIN

CONOR BENN had no sooner upstaged his famous father than he told him he was only just getting started.

Benn succeeded where his old man failed three decades ago in defeating a man named Eubank.

Nigel Benn lost to Chris Sr in Birmingham in 1990 before a controversial draw in Manchester three years later.

But there was no debating the result of the sequel between their sons as Benn outclassed Eubank Jr on Saturday night.

In truth, the second instalment was a damp squib compared with the brutal war served up seven months ago. Eubank Jr was a shadow of himself and quickly realised that, at 36, this was one fight too many.

But Benn (circle) produced a mature and calculated performance to win all but one round, dropping Eubank Jr twice in the final session for good measure.
