Magic Mike out to mark 300th game with charge to play-offs

MIKE MCMEEKEN chalks up his 300th career game admitting it would be “phenomenal” if Wakefield make the playoffs.

Sixth-placed Trinity will take a big step towards that tonight if they can beat leaders Hull KR in their penultimate regular game.

They lost to them 34-14 at Craven Park in June but were without a raft of key forwards - including England prop McMeeken - and only trailed 12-10 early in the second period.

They also pushed the Robins close, losing 14-12 in February in only their second game back in Super League after winning the Championship title.

McMeeken, who has been inspirational for Daryl Powell’s side, said: “We were down to the bare bones for that last game against KR.

“The boys had a real good dig in the first half before it took its toll.

“But we've more players back this time around.
