PSG three goals up but Rosenior won't give up hope
but he will now be forced to miss the Three Lions’ final two matches on home soil before the summer tournament - and the opportunity to nail down the right-back spot.
James is out also of tonight's Champions League last-16 second leg against Paris Saint-Germain at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior said: "Really frustrating and disappointing for us, we don't know the full extent of the injury. But that rules him out [vs PSG]."
Chelsea could also be without right-back Malo Gusto through illness.
But winger Pedro Neto has escaped a ban for pushing a ball boy during last week's first leg, instead receiving a warning for "unsporting conduct" from UEFA.
Chelsea have been hit with a record fine but avoided a points deduction after admitting to breaching Premier League rules in relation to more than £47million of undisclosed payments.
The Premier League said the payments came from third party entities which were "controlled by or associated with" former owner Roman Abramovich (above).
