IT is a really rubbish job being a bin worker, when a Labour council and now the Prime Minister want to trash your pay after you last year lost up to £1,000 in shift allowances.

Most of Birmingham's directly employed loaders are, according to trade union Unite, paid between £24.027 and £25,992 a year, which is just above the minimum wage.

The senior loaders who face losing £8,000 from their pay must be on around national average earnings.
