IS link to Austria stabbing rampage

A KNIFE attack that killed a 14-year-old boy and left five other people injured in Austria was terror related, police said last night.

A 23-year-old Syrian asylum seeker, who was arrested at the scene, has been charged with murder and attempted murder.

Three of the victims remain in intensive care but officers have praised another Syrian man, a delivery driver, who bravely drove his car at the attacker to prevent many more injuries at the border city of Villach.

Austrian Interior Minister Gerhard Karner said an Islamic State group flag had been found in the suspect's apartment, while local police chief Michaela Kohlweiss revealed he had sworn allegiance to the group.
