I'm a Celeb castle gets green light for gigging

THE castle used in I'm a Celebrity has won a noise battle so it can welcome back former contestant Russell Watson.

The classical tenor, 58, featured in the 20th series of the hit ITV show when it moved to Abergele, North Wales, due to Covid.

Bosses at Gwrych Castle faced a battle with council officials for a licence to host up to four large-scale daytime events per year for up to 5,000 people.

It comes following a big boost in visitors after featuring in the show, hosted by Ant and Dec.
