- KATE SKELTON

I visited 25 countries & took 34 flights last year... by December I was a bit burnt out!

Phileas Fogg crossed the world in 80 days in Jules Verne's 1872 novel and giving him a run for his money is Natalie Barrett, who managed to rack up 25 countries last year, through annual leave alone.

Explaining that most of her breaks proved cheaper than a day trip to London, she managed the feat with 34 flights by visiting her destinations no longer than a day at a time.

But Natalie admits: "By December I was a bit burnt out!"

imageThat said, her travel thirst does not seem to have been quenched... Already this year, she has visited Madrid, Athens, Switzerland and Jersey, with excursions also planned to Estonia, Finland, Norway, Serbia and Montenegro.

The digital platform manager, from Leeds, says: "Last year I spent every day of my annual leave travelling - apart from my sister's wedding!"

Natalie, 42, who also used bank holidays and weekends to travel, says: "I was going on holiday every couple of weeks.
