I might never see her again

BELLA May Culley's parents waved off their 18-year-old daughter on the holiday of a lifetime to the Far East.

The next time they saw her, she was on TV handcuffed to a court official in Tbilisi, Georgia, charged with drug smuggling.

Now, as family members fly out to see her, grandad William Culley, 80, says he fears he may have seen her for the last time.

Mr Culley said: "I'm terrified that she's in for a long sentence.

I might never see her again." Authorities in the eastern European country say Bella May was caught with 30lbs of cannabis and, if convicted, she could receive a possible life sentence. But Mr Culley said: "She's got sucked into something, somehow. She's not an international drug trafficker.

image"Can she even tell them who has given her the drugs to take over? I bet she doesn't. These people keep out of the way.

"It's all just very strange and at the moment we just don't have any answers. We don't know what to think." Bella May, who also claims she is pregnant, first flew to the Philippines with a friend just after Easter, then went to Thailand on May 3.
