Ex-police chief caged for rape & murder escapes jail.. by dressing as cop

A FORMER police chief convicted of murder and rape was last night being hunted by ex-colleagues after escaping prison.

Grant Hardin fled the North Central Unit in Calico Rock, Arkansas on Sunday afternoon in an outfit resembling a police uniform, and was only reported missing after a routine head count.

The Stone County Sheriff's Office said he left the prison through a controlled gate, pushing a utility trolley.
