Leigh 24 Huddersfield 10 BY JOSH MCALLISTER LEIGH boss Adrian Lam admits he's been surprised' by Aussie recruit Ethan O'Neill's start to life in Super League after his man-of-the-match performance against the Giants.

The 25-year-old Leopards backrower (below) made the move from down under during the off-season following in the footsteps of his father, Julian, who scored 122 points in 12 games for the club in 2006.

O'Neill has impressed in the early stages of his new career as Leopards maintained their winning start to 2025 at Leigh Sports Village.

The round two fixture was affected by the miserable conditions.

But Leigh raised their game in the second half to claim the two points on offer.

There were first Super League tries for David Armstrong and Tesi Niu.
