BETH ENGLAND'S big gamble paid off. She's going to the World Cup.

Just six months ago, she swapped Chelsea for Tottenham in search of the game-time needed to convince the Lionesses' head coach, Sarina Wiegman, to name her in the squad.

But for the striker there is something far more important than that she can still look at herself in the mirror.

England was kicking her heels on the bench for Emma Hayes' side, behind the likes of Sam Kerr, Pernille Harder and Fran Kirby.

With Alessia Russo and Rachel Daly moving ahead in the Lionesses pecking order, the Barnsley lass faced a dilemma.

Stay put, see out her contract and remain in her comfort zone or become a record British transfer and switch to Spurs.

And the move reaped rich rewards.
