Economy's 0.3% rise is boost to Chancellor

CHANCELLOR Rachel Reeves got an unexpected boost yesterday as figures revealed the economy grew by 0.3% in November.

The Office for National Statistics estimate was better than forecast, wiping out October's 0.1% fall.

But experts warned the UK economy remained stuck in the slow lane, with little hope of a significant pick-up any time soon.
