Rachel Weisz and Leo Woodall star in a steamy comedy-drama about a married professor who becomes obsessed with her younger colleague
Oscar-winning actress Rachel Weisz describes her new TV series Vladimir as "funny and mischievous and truthful, and slightly ridiculous".
She stars as an unnamed college professor in upstate New York who fantasises about her younger colleague Vladimir Vladinski, played by Bridget Jones: Mad About The Boy star Leo Woodall. "The tone of the series is like a heightened fairy tale centering on my character, who becomes obsessed with this younger man," she says. "There's definitely comedy and drama. It's mischievous, and it's a good tonal cocktail for exploring some very serious subjects."
In the series, which is based on Julia May Jonas's bestselling novel, Rachel's character is married to John (John Slattery), but their relationship is under strain when she falls for Vladimir.
