Missing chef's intimate items are targeted

- BY LUCY THORNTON and MICHELLE RAWLINS

THE mother of missing chef Claudia Lawrence fears her daughter's home has been broken into for a third time this year.

Police were called out after Joan Lawrence, 82, found a pair of knickers had been moved, a raffle ticket left on the kitchen floor and three videotapes taken to Claudia's bedroom.

A forensic officer found fingerprints and took away the underwear to investigate after visiting the empty property in Heworth, York.

Joan said: "I knew as soon as I unlocked the front door someone had been back into Claudia's house. I'm convinced this is now the third time.

"The lock felt loose whereas it has always been quite tight. The internal door between the kitchen and downstairs bathroom was also wide open.

For insurance and fire purposes I always double check that it's shut.
