BURNLEY kept up the pressure on Sheffield United as Josh Brownhill and Maxime Esteve fired them to a 2-1 win in Cardiff.

Brownhill put the visitors ahead after 19 minutes with a smart right-foot finish, converting Hannibal Mejbri’s cross from the left.

CARDIFF were almost level 10 minutes later as Callum O'Dowda set up Yousef Salech only to see his shot come back off a post.

Zian Flemming should have done better for Burnley with a header that went high and wide, and, from a quick break, Jaidon Anthony blasted over.

But Burnley's pressure was starting to tell and, five minutes from the interval, they doubled their lead as Esteve (above) converted from Flemming's knockdown.
