IN a quarter of a century covering United and City for the Mirror, I have seen a lot of Manchester's football life.
My stint is almost up there with Sir Alex Ferguson's 26-and-a-half year United reign, the second half of which I witnessed firsthand, with press conference bans and blasts of Fergie's 'hairdryer' a regular occupational hazard.
Despite his fierce public persona, there was a lighter side. After leading United to the title in 2013 before stepping down, champagne was poured for reporters at his press conference.
