A half-time show with Coldplay picking the acts? Give us a break

Sure, it’s a nuisance but it will be worse if you happen to be at the World Cup final on July 19, 2026... you will have to spend most of half-time listening to Coldplay.

Actually, at the moment, Chris Martin is only confirmed as having a say in who you will listen to at half-time but, if Chris Martin (below) is having a say, you can be sure he will be having a play at some stage.

And don't expect Coldplay's choice of acts to be edgy.

What price Elton John doing a turn in the New York New Jersey Stadium, AKA MetLife Stadium outside of major tournaments?

You can bet Gianni Infantino would love that, in the sense that he loves any celebrity superstar.

imageMainly because he seems to believe he is one himself. Celebrity superstar and some sort of global leader. Pal of Putin, pal of Trump, pal of Saudi Arabia, pal of Salt Bae. Remember him taking centre stage at World Cup 2022?
