NHS ‘ticking timebomb' fears

FOUR in 10 children across England went a full year without seeing a dentist, figures reveal.

And in three quarters of the country 40% of kids did not visit a dentist in TWO years, analysis by the Liberal Democrats has found.

The party said there was a postcode lottery and warned of a “ticking timebomb for the NHS”.

The figures to June 2025 show that in Nottinghamshire 35% of children have not seen a dentist in two years, while in Somerset it is 56%. And 60% of adults have gone without dental care for two years or more.
