Gates Foundation-hosted Goalkeepers 2025 meeting kicks off in NY today

THE Gates Foundation’s ‘The Goalkeepers 2025’ event will return to New York City today (22) as world leaders gather for the 80th UN General Assembly.
The two-day event will see global changemakers, innovators, and leaders, including the Daily FT, who will spot light what's possible when urgency meets action for a world without preventable child deaths.
Preventable child deaths are primarily caused by infectious diseases like pneumonia, diarrhoea, and malaria, as well as complications from premature birth and labour and malnutrition. Around 4.8 million children under 5 years died in 2023 and 47% of all under-5 deaths were newborns (first 28 days), according to the World Health Organisation.
This year's theme-We Can't Stop at Almost—will ground the conversation in what it will take to protect past progress and unlock the next wave of breakthroughs for the world's children.
