Colombo District Court issues enjoining order against illegal SLR constitution move by "Working Task Force”

THE Colombo District Court yesterday issued two enjoining orders against the Working Task Force of Sri Lanka Rugby and the Executive Director of Sri Lanka Rugby, restraining them from acting upon the draft constitution of Sri Lanka Rugby and from taking any steps based on such draft constitution.

The Western Province Rugby Football Union (WPRFU) President Roshan Deen and Secretary Waruna De Silva instituted action against Sri Lanka Rugby, the Executive Director of Sri Lanka Rugby, and the Working Task Force comprising M.R. Lathif, Suresh Subramaniyam, Dinal Philips, M.H. Marso, and Ravindranath Wijenathan. The defendants were attempting to take several steps under a constitution that remains in draft form and has not yet been adopted by Sri Lanka Rugby, which is an independent organisation governed by its own constitut
