Winter's on the way for Christmas

WEATHER fit for Christmas will arrive before December even starts, with days of frosts, snow and freezing lows of -8C creeping in this week.

Forecasters warn overnight frost will blanket the nation, with "hazardous conditions" likely, as the UK is in the grip of blasts of cold Scandinavian air.

The biting chill may even continue into the start of next week, as daytime temperatures struggle to get above single digits and overnight temperatures remain below freezing in most areas.
