Wiegman backed to get tough with 'soft' Lionesses

RACHEL BROWNFINNIS says England have been a "soft touch" in the run-up to their Women's Euros defence this summer.

But the former Lionesses goalkeeper has urged fans to keep faith in Sarina Wiegman and her side because she says they have the best manager in the world.
England suffered the first defeat of their Women's Nations League campaign last week as they lost 3-2 to Belgium, just four days after hammering the same side 5-0. It was their fifth loss since being beaten by Spain in the 2023 World Cup final.
Brown-Finnis, who won 82 caps, said: "Everybody watching the Lionesses has probably been concerned about form, and that they have been a bit of a soft touch at times in the last nine months.
