'It feels like we were violated and invaded,' says clergyman

- By Dominic Bareham and Faye Mayern

A RETIRED vicar is locked in an unholy row with a neighbouring care home after workers “mistakenly” cut down trees and shrubs in his garden.

Philip Young, 72, said the privacy of his home had been “violated” by “three men with chainsaws” and is seeking £30,000 in compensation.

He returned from church to the £325,000 house he shares with his wife in Felixstowe, Suffolk, only to find the felled flora — including a 24ft 60-year-old blackthorn tree that had been home to blue tits, pigeons, magpies and “the occasional thrush”.
