Trump: Putin has gone absolutely crazy. He's needlessly killing a lot of people...

In a clear sign the US president’s patience is running out, Mr Trump blasted: “I’m not happy with Putin. I don’t know what’s wrong with him.

“He’s killing a lot of people. I’m not happy about that. He’s sending rockets into cities and killing people and I don’t like it at all. What the hell happened to him?”

Yesterday’s broadside came after NATO neighbour Poland scrambled fighter jets and heightened its air defence in response to Moscow’s missile strikes.

Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman, said Putin makes decisions that are necessary to ensure Russia’s security. He said negotiations are at “a decisive moment that is linked to emotional overloading for everyone and emotional reactions.”

And it came as German Chancellor Friedrich Merz revealed that Ukraine will be able to defend itself against Russia with “long-range fire” after Britain, France, Germany, and the US Sanctions agreed to lift all range restrictions on weapons.

Although not yet confirmed by Washington, the move would signal strong support from the Trump administration and provide a significant military advantage to Kyiv.

Western-supplied cruise missiles would allow Ukraine to strike targets up to 200 miles inside Russia, extending its reach beyond the border areas.
