Truck killer was an ex-soldier turned ISIS fanatic

THE US army veteran who killed 14 people in New Orleans was radicalised by bloodthirsty ISIS videos.

Shamsud-Din Jabbar, who was posted to Afghanistan in 2009, became indoctrinated after growing disillusioned when his dream of real estate success turned into financial ruin amid a second bitter divorce.

Friends and family told of a once-dedicated soldier forced to live in a trailer park where it is understood his radicalisation accelerated. He is thought to have joined ISIS last year.

It has emerged that Jabbar, 42, originally planned to kill relatives and friends but was worried that media coverage would not focus on the "war between the believers and disbelievers". He posted five Facebook videos pledging allegiance to ISIS on New Year's Day starting at 1.29am and the last at 3.02am.
