Taxi tax idea is just rank incompetence

A contemptible state of affairs
YOU know a government has run out of road when its big idea to save the country from its financial woes is a taxi tax! And that's precisely where Rachel from Accounts and her high-tax treasury officials have landed.
They now want to impose VAT on all taxi journeys which will prove to be about as successful at finding money for the Exchequer as sticking your hand down the back of the sofa hoping to find next month's rent.
“Desperate” doesn’t even begin to describe the financial predicament this Labour government has got the country into. Reeves currently needs an extra £50billion by November to make her sums add up and things seem to be getting worse by the day.
