BEN STOKES admits he is approaching the home straight in "the back end of my career" after opting to skip a big payday in the Indian Premier League.
The England captain sat out the lucrative Twenty20 tournament earlier this year to manage his workload following a long-running battle with a knee injury.
Although he was expected to be available for hire at the auction in Saudi Arabia this week, Stokes was a surprise omission from the bidding, as England team-mates Jos Buttler, Phil Salt and Jofra Archer were all snapped up in £1million-plus deals.
