Shell pledges shareholder bonanza as it cuts costs

SHELL has vowed to reward sharehold- ers again after the FTSE 100 giant handed almost £19bn to investors last year while also revealing plans to cut spending and reduce costs.

It said it promised to “deliver more value with less emissions” despite drop- ping plans to cut net carbon intensity by 45% by 2035. Shell says it plans to save up to £5.4bn a year by the end of 2028.
