Russian arrest in hunt for assassin

RUSSIA has arrested a man suspected of the deadly bomb attack that killed a top general.

Lt Gen Igor Kirillov was assassinated on Tuesday when a device concealed in a scooter detonated outside his apartment building in Moscow.

The unnamed suspect is a Uzbekistan citizen, allegedly recruited by Ukrainian intelligence services, Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) claimed.

Kirillov's assistant also died in the blast. Ukraine's security service has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Explosion

Although the FSB did not disclose the suspect's name, they revealed he was born in 1995 and had claimed to have been enlisted by Ukrainian special forces.
