EMOTIONAL Roger Varian was reduced to tears after watching Charyn storm to victory in the Prix Jacques le Marois yesterday.
The rapidly improving grey saw off a quality field to claim the glory in the £496,000 Group One contest.
Silvestre de Sousa, who rode the miler to win the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot, was always in a good position and took over the lead from Big Rock two furlongs out.
