Peace talks collapse following Sunday's surprise strikes
PEACE talks between Ukraine and Russia were in crisis last night as Vladimir Putin planned retribution for the humiliating destruction of more than 40 of his warplanes.
Sections of Moscow’s state-run media called for a nuclear response as discussions between the countries — refereed by Turkey yesterday — broke up after just an hour.

Ukraine’s spectacular drone attack on five air bases deep inside Russia on Sunday was 18 months in the making.
Aircraft worth an estimated £1.5billion was destroyed including A-50, Tu-95 and Tu-22M planes.
Nearly a third of Moscow’s strategic bomber fleet was obliterated or heavily damaged, Ukraine claimed.
