Putin missiles pound Kyiv in revenge for drone onslaught

RUSSIA pounded Kyiv with missiles early yesterday in apparent revenge for heavy Ukrainian drone strikes over the weekend.
The bombardment, a week after Russia unleashed its largest air attack on Ukraine since fullscale war began early in 2022, coincided with the first day back at school for many children.
Youngsters in the capital spoke of their terror. Standing in her playground, one child named Alina said: "It was supposed to be school today." And her friend Amina said: "We were asleep and woke up to a bang." One parent, who hid with her daughter at home during the blitz before taking her to school, said they were showing once more "that this nation is invincible".
