Probe into huge bets on women's cricket match
Daily Express
|May 29, 2025
BETS worth hundreds of thousands of pounds have sparked fears of match fixing in women’s cricket.
Officials are probing irregular betting patterns though there is no suggestion any player is or has been involved in corruption in the game.
Last week £296,000 was placed on the Vitality T20 Women’s County Cup quarter final between Kent Women and The Blaze via Betfair exchange betting platforms, while the match was watched by more than 77,000 people on YouTube.
At that point on the same day the total bet across all nine men’s county fixtures was just £8,535 on Betfair.

A magnificent reception
MOBILE phones, as you know, can be pain in the neck, especially when reception is patchy. But do you know whose fault it is when a call keeps cutting out? It’s mine. Yes, really. I’m entirely to blame.
