Pontins charged over death of gran following ceiling collapse

THE owners of holiday park firm Pontins have been charged with corporate manslaughter after a ceiling fell on 18 guests at a resort.

Holidaymakers were rushed to hospital after the collapse at Pontins Brean Sands, in Somerset, in February 2019.
One victim, grandmother Wendy Jones, 68, spent the final six months of her life in hospital before she died on August 4, 2019.
Police said a postmortem found a clear link between her death and the injuries she sustained.
