Police scour farm after two men shot
Daily Express
|May 03, 2024
THIS is the remote farm where a suspected teenage burglar was shot dead and his alleged accomplice left badly injured in what police believe to be a bungled break-in.
A farmer, in his 50s, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder at the scene and was last night being quizzed by detectives.
The dad-of-four is understood to be a private-school educated regular churchgoer.
Marcus Smith, 19, a former pupil of Chapel-en-le-Frith nearby High School was found dead from gunshot wounds inside Mosley Hall Farm, near Whaley Bridge in Derbyshire's Peak District.
Arrested Marcus, who leaves behind two brothers, used to play for Macclesfield Town FC and his mum Kerry, a nurse, is said by friends to be "totally devastated" and is "grieving for her son".
A second man, also in his teens, was found lying in the road outside having also been shot. He was taken to hospital before being arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
