PEP SAYS SORRY TO KAL OVER BODY TALK
Daily Express
|February 20, 2024
PEP GUARDIOLA has apologised to Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips for publicly outing him for being overweight.
MANCHESTER CITY V BRENTFORD 7.30 PM
Guardiola made the remarks after Phillips returned from England duty about 1.5kg overweight following the World Cup in Qatar in 2022.
Phillips, on loan at West Ham until the end of the season, admitted recently that he lost confidence after Guardiola outed him over his weight.
Rival fans have since taken delight in goading the 28-year-old over the weight issue and Guardiola admitted he was wrong to go public with his comments.
