Nick gets his just desert

August 15, 2025

SHOULD you happen to have a spare hour tonight, I can highly recommend LOST IN THE DESERT WITH NICK KNOWLES (5, 9pm), the first in a new travel series.

I've become quite a fan of Nick's travel shows; I know he can be a bit earnest at times, but he never forgets to have fun.

A word of warning, however. The desert in question, the Gobi, is one of the most desolate places on Earth (I know this because, at the start, against a vast orange backdrop of sand, rock and, well, basically more sand, he cries: "This is one of the most desolate places on Earth..."), but Nick isn't technically "lost" in it. Of course not. He's just travelling through it - the Mongolian bit, that is.

If he were genuinely lost, he'd have been in no position to film this series, would he? Not unless his crew got lost there with him.
