Net-zero Miliband 'a lone voice' as BP cuts green projects

ENERGY Secretary Ed Miliband risks becoming a "lone voice" in his drive for net zero after fossil fuel giant BP said it will slash £3.95billion a year from its green businesses.
Chief executive Murray Auchincloss confirmed that the firm will ramp up its oil and gas operations.
In its election manifesto, Labour promised clean energy by 2030.
But Reform UK JK MP Richard Tice said: "Ed Miliband is quickly becom- ing the lone voice and advocate for continuing his barmy net zero plans." plans.
"If Ed Miliband truly cared about taxpayers and Britain's economy, they would back North Sea drilling and Rolls-Royce modular reactors.
"Instead, hard-working Britons are forced to fund his net-zero fantasies.
"Only Reform UK is committed to cutting waste, lowering taxes and putting citizens first. Labour never will."
