Nation nauseated by our polluted waterways
Daily Express
|May 15, 2025
MORE than half of people fear they will become sick if they swim in waterways because of pollution, a poll found.
And just one in five believe they will be able to safely take a local dip outdoors by 2030.
The survey of 2,000 people, for Surfers Against Sewage, comes as the bathing water season in England officially begins today.
Thousands of users will paddle out in a nationwide protest against sewage pollution on Saturday to mark the occasion.
