Lone-wolf psychopaths could revel in law that brands them terrorists

PSYCHOPATHS fantasising about carrying out atrocities could bask in being labelled terrorists, Sir Keir Starmer was warned yesterday.

It comes after Axel Rudakubana, 18, pleaded guilty on Monday to murdering three girls at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class in Southport, Merseyside, last July. He will be sentenced today.

However, experts have warned expanding the definition of terrorism would would be a "mistake".

Former counter-terrorism policing chief Neil Basu, below, said it was once thought it "would have been easier" to charge violent people who had no ideologies under anti-terror laws.
