'Should police be investigating?' shouted in walkabout

- BY EMILY FERGUSON Royal Editor

King heckled over brother Andrew

A HECKLER interrupted the King’s walkabout yesterday, asking Charles if his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor should be investigated over Jeffrey Epstein.

As the monarch and Queen Camilla shook hands with well-wishers in the rain a man shouted questions about the sex scandal, demanding “justice” for the victims and filming on his phone.

The retirement-age male heckler called out “Charles? Charles? Should the police be investigating Andrew?” But the King, who was trying to greet as many people as possible while sheltering under an umbrella, did not appear to hear the question and did not answer.

Instead he continued to walk along a line of wellwishers with his security team staying close behind as police called the protester away.

The man, grasping an umbrella, then turned and walked off voluntarily, with officers thanking him for moving on.

As the royal couple arrived in Dedham, Essex, yesterday morning, a TV reporter was also heard to shout a question about late financier Epstein after the latest tranche of investigation files were released by the US Department of Justice.

Many fresh details have emerged about Andrew’s links to Epstein, who was found dead in a New York cell in 2019.
