Israel allows 'minimal' aid to ease crisis

Move follows allies' pressure
ISRAELI leader Benjamin Netanyahu has admitted his decision to resume aid to Gaza after an 11-week blockade came after pressure from allies.
Five trucks carrying baby food and other aid entered the territory yesterday, according to the Israeli defence organisation in charge of co-ordinating help for Gaza.
The UN said it was “welcome” but that much more was needed to address the humanitarian crisis in the territory of two million people.
Israel has been condemned by the UN, aid groups and some European allies for not allowing aid into the war-ravaged enclave.
